The Speed 3 has been on the market for over 2 years and it is still leading the pack in terms of low wind performance. The 21m is unbeatable in low winds and the 12m is incredibly good fun in up to 25 knots if you love going high! The kites are characterised by their performance, stability, depower and the amount of fun they are. One of the principles that Flysurfer live by is to only bring out a new kite if it provides a significant improvement over its predecessor. As there is no worthy successor for the Speed 3 yet, we have decided to give it a bit of a facelift for summer 2012.
There are 3 key changes:
1) Colour coded Deluxe sizes
The Speed 3 has been instantly recognisable in its DLX version by the Black/Gold/White colour scheme. This summer this will change to some more vibrant colours. The 12m DLX will be grass green, 15m DLX will be yellow, 19m DLX will be cyan, and the 21m will be gold. This will help people recognise kite sizes from a distance too.
2) Infinity 2.0 Control bar
We introduced this bar last year and have been really happy with it ever since. It is sophisticated, comfortable and most importantly – functional. The quick release also meets the strict controls of the French safety norm. Other features include the special bearing designed to improve our swivel mechanism to keep your lines untwisted and the V shaped eyelet to improve depowering whilst steering. The chicken stick design replacing the chick-deck is more durable and works in cold weather.
3) An updated kitebag
Functional and timeless in design. Black + cold for DLX editions and black + silver for STD editions.
