When to go Deluxe and when to go Serial

Flysurfer Psycho 4 DeluxePretty much every Flysurfer kite is available in Deluxe Edition. What does this mean exactly? It means it uses the silver arrow cloth (which weights almost half as much as the serial fabric), comes with the Infinity bar (which the Speed 3 and Psycho 4 do anyway) and has a custom colour scheme in white, black and gold. The deluxe kites look amazing in the sky.

The flying characteristics do alter significantly in larger sizes especially. For this reason we tend to recommend anything over 10m in size would benefit from being in deluxe, and anything over 15m in size should certainly be deluxe. Tests carried out show improvements in the stability and turning speed of kites using the silver arrow cloth over the standard fabric. These improvements are minimal on smaller sizes however as they are generally flown in stronger winds where the canopy finds it easier to maintain good pressure in the cells.

The Speed 3 is a very high aspect ratio kite which due to its shape will never have the greatest turning speed. It is also designed in large sizes for low wind performance. In this case, where there is a lot of fabric (12-21m) the benefit of the deluxe edition is very obvious.
